Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us. We've kept it in plain English, because terms nobody can read are terms nobody has agreed to.

1What Chase&Keep is
We connect you with film labs and sellers. You post film, a lab develops and scans it, and we get the results back to you. You can also buy gear, order prints and book events. Chase&Keep is operated by LSR Solutions.
For lab work and for gear sold by other sellers, we are the marketplace and the lab or seller is your counterparty. We take a fee on each transaction. Where we sell something ourselves, we are the seller and these terms apply to us directly.
2Your account
You need an account to order. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else has it. You must be 13 or older, and old enough to enter a contract where you live.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. We can suspend an account that is being used fraudulently or to harm other people, and we will tell you why.
3Sending us film
This is the part that matters most, so it gets said plainly. Exposed film is often irreplaceable. Development is a chemical process, and the things it can go wrong for include faults in the film, how it was exposed, how it was stored, how it travelled, and — occasionally — the process itself.
Labs on Chase&Keep are chosen for their competence, and they take real care. But nobody in this industry can promise a roll will come back, and we are not going to be the first to pretend otherwise. If a lab loses or damages your film through its own fault, its liability is the replacement cost of unexposed film of the same type and the price you paid for the service. Not the value of the photographs. No insurer prices that, and no lab can.
If your film genuinely cannot be replaced, consider whether posting it anywhere is the right decision.
4Buying gear
Used equipment is inspected and tested before listing and graded honestly. Grades describe cosmetic and functional condition; used cameras are used, and some wear is expected and disclosed.
Where a listing offers a warranty, the terms shown on that listing at the time you bought are the ones that apply, and they are stored with your purchase so later edits cannot change them. The seller underwrites the cover.
Where a listing accepts returns, the window and the refund grades are shown on the listing. Return postage is deducted from the refund rather than charged separately, and it is waived entirely if the item was not as described. Your legal rights as a consumer sit on top of all this and are not affected by it.
5Prices and payment
Prices are shown in your local currency and include tax where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number. An order is accepted when we confirm it, not when you pay.
Orders can be cancelled before they ship. If a shipping label has already been bought and cannot be voided, the shipping cost comes off the refund. Everything else comes back.
6Your images
Your photographs are yours. Scanning them does not give us any ownership of them.
We need a narrow permission to run the service: to store your scans, process them, and send them to you. That is the whole of it. We do not use your photographs for marketing, we do not show them to anyone else, and we do not train anything on them. If we ever wanted to feature your work, we would ask you first and you could say no.
7Events
Photo walks and workshops are run by us or by an organiser named on the listing. Tickets are refundable up to the point stated on the event. Outdoor events depend on weather and can be moved or cancelled; if we cancel, you get your money back.
8What we're responsible for
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss we cause that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us exclude — and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything on this page.
Beyond that, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it.
9Changes and law
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of the country you live in.
